Properties and Application of Terminal Blending Rubber Asphalt

Terminal Blending橡胶沥青的特性与应用前景

Abstract: Considering that the rubber asphalt prepared by the traditional process was easy to segregate and highly viscous, Terminal Blend wet process without stirring introduced from the United States was adopted to produce the Terminal Blending (hereinafter referred to as TB) asphalt. The infrared spectroscopy and fluorescence microscopy were utilized to conduct a microscopic analysis, and the TB asphalt ware compared with traditional asphalt rubber through 5 aspects, including the storage stability, softening point, penetration, viscosity and ductility. The results indicate that: TB process can promote the crumb rubber completely dissolved in the asphalt, which makes the TB asphalt more homogeneous; the softening point difference in 48h and penetration difference after storage were less than one half of the ordinary rubber asphalt; and the viscosity is also far lower than that of ordinary rubber asphalt. TB asphalt shows a good performance at low temperature but high temperature property is barely satisfactory, so it can be used in northern regions. In order to expand the area of application, composite modification of TB asphalt is recommended. The excellent storage stability and widely applicable gradation of TB asphalt makes it have a promising prospect.

摘要: 针对传统橡胶沥青工艺制备的橡胶沥青存在易离析、高黏度等缺点,采用美国TerminalBlend无搅拌湿法工艺制备了TerminalBlending(以下简称TB)胶粉 改性沥青,通过红外光谱及荧光显微镜对其进行了微观分析,并从存储稳定性、软化点、针入度、黏度和延度5方面将其与普通橡胶沥青进行对比。结果表明:TB 工艺能够促进胶粉完全溶于沥青,使得TB沥青整体更为均匀,48h软化点之差和存储前后针入度之差均小于普通橡胶沥青的1/2,且黏度也远小于橡胶沥青;TB沥 青低温性能良好而高温性能一般,适用于我国北方寒冷地区,为扩大TB沥青的适用地域,建议对其进行复核改性;TB沥青出色的存储稳定性且广泛的适用级配使 其具有良好的应用前景。
