摘要： 在新型快速运输系统迅速发展的背景下，从运能、速度、制式和技术性能等方面，比较了目前国内外常见的城 市快速运输系统，分析了各自的适用范围和局限性。结合实例，提出了国内中小型城市新型交通方式可能的发展方 向。

Abstract: In the context of the rapid development of new rapid transit system，a discussion on the pros and cons of different rapid transit systems was made based on a comparative study in terms of capacity，operational speed and configurations． Suggestions were also given on the application of rapid transit systems in small and medium-sized cities in China．
Key words: rapid transit system, monorail, light rail, automatic people mover ( APM) , personal rapid transit( PRT)
