Abstract:The relationship of moment and axial load of eccentrically loaded masonry section were analyzed, considering constitution of masonry material under compression till failure. The limit strength of masonry arch was achieved by nonlinear optimization mechanism analysis. The influence of masonry strength on limit strength of masonry arch was also discussed. The results show that when the compressive strength of masonry materials is low, bridge bearing capacity on the material strength is relatively sensitive, and with the bridge span increasing, the sensitivity is further increased.
