Abstract: As the high standard of keeping mountainous highway smooth，a new method which is called“Widening the mountainous highway with half-bridge and slope base composite embankment structures”was put forward． This method aims at strengthening the original embankment with the reinforced concrete frame． On this basis，the highway could be broadened with cantilever construction． The biggest advantage of this method does not only eliminate high fill and deep cut but also keep a clear traffic in the process of construction．
