Abstract: Allocating conlahers in yard is a key process for each export contaher in yard managament,which is essential to shorten conlainer-ship's turnaround time in port and to enhance the loading performance of container ports. A heuristic algorithm is put forward to optimize the yard position of export containers. Simulation experiments show that this heuristic algorithm can improve the loading efficiency of contaher port, and keep the loading quality acceptable at the same time
