The journal was created in 1982 and its name was Journal of Chongqing Jiaotong University with ISSN1001-716X, CN50-1048/U, and by then it was published quarterly. At the year of 2004, the journal was altered to bimonthly publication. And at the year of 2007, the journal was renamed to Journal of Chongqing Jiaotong University (Natural Science), with ISSN1674-0696, CN50-1048/U, and was used till now. At the year of 2017, the journal was altered to monthly publication.
