Abstract: The economy,culture,and other social aspects have obvious differences from eastern to western China,since the eastern area has taken the leading part in practicing reformation and open policy.Developing situation of road traffic and traffic accidents in recent years has been analyzed in order to research the traffic safety effect produced by economic level in eastern area and western area,taking Jiangsu province and Sichuan province as example.Then the relative magnitude of traffic accidents is compared from aspects of road length,motor vehicle amount,resident population,passenger-kilometers and local GDP.Finally,the result that the total traffic safety situation in Jiangsu is better than that in Sichuan,while the accidental rate per hundred kilometer road,the accidental rate per hundred thousand people and the damage extent of accident in Jiangsu are greater than that in Sichuan is obtained.It is possible that Jiangsu province is concerned with larger passenger-kilometer and frequent travels,and the vehicle's relative-higher-velocity on better quality road.

摘要： 我国实行改革开放以来,东部地区得到了率先发展,在经济与文化等方面与西部地区形成了很大反差。为研究我国东、西部地区经济发展差距对道路交通安全的影响,以江苏省和四川省为例,分析了两地近年来的道路交通及其交通事故的发展情况,并以道路长度、机动车保有量、居住人口数、道路运输周转量和地方GDP为相关因素,进行了交通事故的相对强度比较。发现江苏省的道路交通安全形势整体上好于四川省,但是其百公里道路事故率、十万人口事故率以及事故的损害强度却偏大,分析认为这与江苏省的道路运输周转量大、人们的交通出行频繁和道路条件改善后车辆行驶速度偏快有关。
