Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to tackle the problems on buoyancy, earth pressure and settlement calculation in bridge foundation design. The author's sugestions are as follows: (1) On the buoyancy: Suggest that the buoyancy should be regarded as a check of the bearing capacity of subgrade in clay. (2) On the earth pressure: Suggest that the experimental value of coefficient for at-rest earth pressure should be regarded as a recommendable value of "Design Norm of Bridges and Culverts of High-way" in our country. (3) One the settlement: Suggest that the settlement formula of the Architectural Institute of China should be regarded as a recommendable settlement formula of "Design Norm of Bridges and Culverts of Highway". .

摘要： 我国《公路桥涵设计规范》(1975年版,以下简称《桥规》)总结了建国以来公路桥涵设计和施工方面的丰富经验,它不但提出了比旧《公路设计准则》更为成熟的计算原理,而且还提供了一些符合我国桥梁生产实际的工程数据,它对我国公路桥涵设计起着促进和指导作用。但是,生产建设和人们的认识在不断发展,因而,对《桥规》中的某些问题进行研究讨论是必要的、有益的。本文特就有关基础方面的几个问题提出下列探讨意见。?
