Abstract: In this paper, the concept, buildup and characteristic of the intelligent material are put forward. And then the application of the intelligent material to civil engineering is discussed. The use of intelligent material will drive the civil engineering to the smart future.

摘要： 智能材料是21世纪的一种新型的材料、是材料科学发展的方向.本文对智能材料的概念、组成及其特点进行了介绍,论述了智能材料在土木工程中应用和研究现状,并展望了智能材料在土木工程的应用前景.
