Abstract: Based on the comprehensive analysis of the strong and weak points of the present major prestressed concrete technology,the first author puts forward a completely new prestressed concrete technology the vertically tensioned prestressed concrete(VTPC).The theory of the technology,the method of the construction and the existing research work have been introduced briefly in this paper.It has been made known by research and practice that the Vertically Tensioned Prestressed Concrete can economize steel products,simplify technology,improve work efficiency besides maintaining the good mechanical properties of the normal Post tensioned Prestressed Concrete.So the Vertically Tensioned Prestressed Concrete is provided with distinct technical and economic benefit.
