Abstract: This paper is devoted to a description of some problems in designing retaining walls in the rainstormy area. The author proved the formulas for calculating earth pressure and inquiried into suitable places for the drainage of retaining walls in the rainslormy area.

摘要： 在我国西南区兴建公路、铁路时,往往需要修建大量挡土墙,该地区的地质特点是地基强度高(多为岩石),应该说在该地区建造的挡土墙不应发生失稳,但暴雨时不少挡土墙发生倒塌,这一事故产生的主要原因乃是由于墙后排水沟设置不当(有时排水沟阻塞)或推力公式不正确所致。本文将从理论上推证排水沟的位置并介绍不同排水沟时的推力公式,以供设计挡土墙时参考。
