Abstract: The wear and tear of road machinery and four kinds of service life are discussed here. It is pointed out that the service life of road machinery should be based on its economic life in order to reduce its annual running maintenance cost of the machinery and to increase the economic benefit of the construction enterprise. Then several methods to calculate the economic life are introduced.
