Abstract: The general concept of the knowledge economy is firstly introduced.Then, the directions of management and service for the books-information of Jiaotong colleges and universities are systematically investigated.The open library must be put into practice, and the computer network control should be established to enjoy in common resources.To fitin with the needs of knowledge economy, the reform step of Jiaotong colleges and universities should be quicken around the centre of information service.

摘要： 作者在文中首先给出了知识经济的一般概念,然后,系统、深入地论述了交通高校图书情报管理服务必须实行开放式办馆(室),建立计算机网络控制,实现资源共享,以情报服务为中心,加快交通高校图书馆(室)改革的步伐,以适应知识经济时代的需求.
