Because the self-anchored suspension bridge adopts reinforced concrete or prestressed concrete members and its cables are anchored on the stifening girder, the shrinkage and creep of stifening girder and bridge tower will induce the changes of internal forces of cables and hangers, which results in the redistribution of action efects and reactions and the transformation of structure state. So the influence of concrete shrinkage and creep must be taken into account in the design of stmcture. The initial strain method was adopted to deduce the finite element expression of shrinkage and creep efects on the structure while taking the age of loading into account, and a programme was compiled by FORTRAN.Taking Pingsheng Bridge of Guangdong as an examples, the analysis of shrinkage and creep on self-anchored suspension bridge was carried on after bridge finished.
