Abstract: The Yangtze River is deep and torrential. Its upper reaches are often thickly deposited with sand and pebbles in the riverbed. The bedrocks are interbedded with soft sandstones and shales, which are Low in strength and easy of weathering. When a bridge is built over such a river, the foundation under water is our first concern. This paper describes the foundation design of the No. 2 pier of Luzhou-the Yangtze River Bridge. The foundation was constructed by making use of the cast-in-place method with the pile cap above ground. As a result of load-testings and observations after the bridge was completed in 1981, the design proved satisfactory.

摘要: 长江上游水深,流急,河床多为深层砂卵石覆盖,下卧软质砂页岩互层,基岩强度不高,易风化。在这种河流上建桥,水中基础是关键。本文介绍了沪州长江大桥主孔二号墩基础的设计。设计采用高桩承台钻孔灌注桩基础。本工程已于81年完成,经全桥建成后的系列测试、检验,证明本设计是成功的。
