Abstract: The methods of preparing rare earth oxide nanotube are summarized．The characteristics of laser ablation，sol-gel way．carbon nanotube temples and hydrothermal ale introduced．The applications of i'are earth oxide narotube on lumines cence，magnetism and catalyze etc．are demonstrated．
