On the Solution for a Class of Second Order Nonlinear Ordinary Differential Equation with Variable Coefficients
    Liu Chengqun, Luo Shiyu
    1985, 4(3): 1-12.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (619KB) ( )
In this paper, a second order nonlinear differential equation with variable coefficients y"+f(x,y)y'2+φ(x,y)y'+ψ(x,y)=0 was reduced to a linear equation Y"+b2Y'+b2Y+b3=0 by using a transformation Y=ye-v(x,y),dX=eu(x,y)dx; The sufficient and necessary conditions for the transformation were discussed and the formula of the general solution was given. Several kinds integral were obtained.

    1985, 4(3): 13-18.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (462KB) ( )
A technology called external prestressing is being developed in some countries these years. Based on the technology at home and abroad, this paper presents the advantages and design theory of external prestressed structure and the distribution and corrosion-preventing technique of external cable. Meanwhile, some problems to be solved in future are pointed out.

A General Solution of Differential Equation of Double-Parameter Method Used in Design of Laterally Loaded Piles
    Wu Hengli
    1985, 4(3): 19-27.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (446KB) ( )
This paper presents a general solution of the following differential equation: EI(d4y/dx4)=-mx1/nybp which is used in Double-parameter method of laterally loaded piles. The solution, together with the reference literature [2], can be used in improving the design level of long piles loaded laterally.

    A Classification of Three-Connected Ore-Type Graph
    Yany Qi
    1985, 4(3): 28-35.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (474KB) ( )
Let G denote a finite simple graph, and set p=|V(G)|,f=min{d(u)+d(v)|uvV(G),uvE(G)}, If f<p, G is called an Ore-type graph. This paper gives a classification of three-connected Ore-type graphes and also the lower bound of the length of the longest circle which contains whichever edge of the graph.

A Nonlinear Flood Cascade Model for Watershed
    Chen Shengjia
    1985, 4(3): 36-41.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (335KB) ( )
A nonlinear flood cascade model for watershed is proposed. This model starts from direct integration. It can be regarded as improvement and advancement on travel flow computation. A computing example is enclosed in this paper for reference.

    Liu Xingya, Yang Jinlin
    1985, 4(3): 42-48.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (377KB) ( )
In this paper, a method for analysing the kinetic response of a linked continual structure connecting elastically with a number of discrete masses is described by using an example, the response of a stretched wire with several masses hung on through springs.

Conceptions and Application of Volume of Traffic and Turnover Volume in Transportation Planning
    Wu Donghao
    1985, 4(3): 49-53.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (437KB) ( )
This paper states the differences of the practical volume of traffic in social production process from the statistical volume of traffic in 《Statistical Yearbook》 in such aspects as concepts, properties, and usage. In the paper, the author analyses the turnover volume and points out the influences of irrational transportation on volume of traffic and turnover volume, and discusses theoretically the ways to solve the practical problems in present transportation planning and forecasting.

The Proper Choice of Approaches Layout of Urban Road-Highway Bridges
    Zhou Yiwu
    1985, 4(3): 54-60.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (532KB) ( )
Most of the big and medium-sized cities in China are generally located on both sides of rivers or the major parts of some cities are on one side. In order to connect the traffic of each side or to link up the through traffic, it is necessary to build large urban road-highway bridges which are in the dual nature of both urban bridges and highway bridges. Based on analysing the basic features of approach layout of urban road-highway bridge, this paper discusses the influence of approach layout on city planning and the operation of bridges. It can serve as a reference for the design of this kind of bridges.

An Approach to Instability Analysis of Arch Bridges
    Yin Yinlong
    1985, 4(3): 84-93.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (684KB) ( )
This paper presents a second-order buckling analysis method which must be adopted for arch bridges. The author has developed a second-order buckling analysis computer program, with which the characteristics of parabolic arches, catennary arches and circular arches have been analyzed and the factors effected on arch buckling behaviour have been also discussed.
