The Discussion on Full-scale Test Results of 25m Height Reinforced Earth Wall
    Ouyang Zhongchun
    1986, 5(3): 28-37.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1501KB) ( )
The application of reinforced earth in the wharf structures is the firstling in our country. In this paper, design methods of over 15 meter height reinforced earth structures are researched based on the measure in full-scale test, and the simplified failure plane is presented for reinforced earth structure with tieback breast beams.

Perturbation Solution of Deformation of Circular Ring under Nonuniform Normal Pressure
    Liu Zhengrong, Luo Shiyu
    1986, 5(3): 38-41.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (236KB) ( )
In this paper, perturbation solution is found for deformation of thin elastic circular rings under various kinds of nonuniform pressure. It determines the ring curvature at any point of the center line. In the particular case, the solution leads to the same results obtained by other authors.

Fields Investigation of Wave Action for Rubble-mound Breakwater
    Pan Baoxiong
    1986, 5(3): 68-99.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2355KB) ( )
This paper presents one of the main basis for establishing the chapter about rubble-mound breakwater of the Standard of the Hydtology of Sea-port. On the basis of field investigation of some main rubble-mound in the People's Republic of China, we propose a rational type section of rubble-mound, reasonable analysis of destructive example, and discuss some other problems in designing. At the concluding part, the author makes some suggestions on designing about rubble-mound breakwater and standard clause.

An Inquire into Problems of Height of Wharf Frontage in River Harbor
    Chen Jiaqin, Zhou Ming
    1986, 5(3): 100-104.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (337KB) ( )
It is an important and complicated problem to determine the height of the wharf frontage when we design the general layout of a wharf. The height of a wharf frontage selected have a direct influence on both the use of the wharf and the investment in it. This paper presents a great number of data about the height of backland of the wharves located in Yangtze River basin and has explaned the questions of height about the general plan standard specifications of the river harbor dock, and the revisions have been put forward.

Research on Experiments of Concrete Plane-strain Fracture Toughness
    Jiang Guchin
    1986, 5(3): 105-113.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (493KB) ( )
In this paper, the test results of bending concrete specimens are shown, and the values of plane-strain fracture toughness, calculated by four different methods, are compared with one another. Owing to the viscoelasticity behavior of concrete, it is better to use the theory of rheology.

Simplified Solution of Dam-breaking Wave in U Cross-section Channels
    Wu Chao, Tan Zhenhong
    1986, 5(3): 166-171.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (320KB) ( )
According to characteristic theory, Saint-Vinant equations are reduced to Riemann equations. In this way, we found the simplified solution of dam-breaking wave in U cross-section channels, assuming both bed-slope and the friction slope to be zeros. When the initial depth of the reservoir h1 is given, water depth at dam-side, maxima of discharge, and water surface profile before occurence of the reflected wave can be predicted.

General Form of Initial Parametric Equation for Beams
    Luo Wuliang
    1986, 5(3): 172-175.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (219KB) ( )
According to the differential equation of the clastic deflections of a beam subjected to various loading such as concentrated moment, concentrated force and uniformly, triangularly or parabolicly distributed loading, a general initial parametric equation for the deflection, rotation, bending moment and shear was developed in this paper. In addition, the formulas of the influence coefficient were worked out.
