    Abstract ( )   PDF (707KB) ( )
In this paper, applying the principle of stationary potential, the author developed a plate-beam spline element, worked out the stiffness matrix and load matrix, and programmed this method. It is found that this spline strip method is more efficent in the analysis of T-beams, spline girder and other bridges.

The Solution of Nonlinear Calculation Models for the Laterally Loaded Pile
    Wu Hengli
    1991, 10(4): 15-19.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (323KB) ( )
On the basis of analysing nonlinear passing force mechanism for the laterally loaded pile, this paper proposes a series of calculation models which describe the nonlinear procedures of pile-soil action. Some actual examples show that the main calculated engineering indexes, i. e. the deflection and the slopes of elastic curve of a pile at the ground surface, the maximum bending moment and its position, are in good agreement with those of the field measurement.Furthermore, according to the studies on the models of nonlinear subgrade reaction coefficients, we know more about the main characteristics of the pile-soil reaction throughout the whole loading process, that is, composite stiffness of pile-soil action will decrease nonlinearly with the increase of the lateral load, while the biparameter increases nonlinearly.

Diagonal Crack Width of Partially Prestressed Concrete Beams With Unbonded Tendons
    Zhou Zhixiang, Jiang Bingzhang
    1991, 10(4): 44-51.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (571KB) ( )
Based on the shear test data of 50 beams with bonded tendons and 25 beams with unbonded tendons, this paper studies the influences of shear force, degree of prestress, shear span-depth ratio, stirrup, content and curved tendon on the development of diagonal cracks of P.P.C. beams with unbonded tendons. It is proposed that the calculation of the diagonal crack width under the influences of the above factors be transferred into determining the equation of the curve in shear-crack width coordinate system. Combined with the statistical analysis on the test data, a formula with a simple form is obtained to predict diagonal crack widths of P.P.C. beams with unbonded tendons.

An Algebraic Theory on Modular Programming
    Li Junxiong
    1991, 10(4): 60-64.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (334KB) ( )
To formalize the process of the stepwise refinement in programming, the concept of refinement implement was defined in paper[1]. In this paper, we propose the modular implement as the formal description of modular programming. It is proved that the modular implement is horizonally and vertically composable. The refinement implement is really a special instance of the modular implement in this paper.

Calculations of the Slabs in the Slab Design of the High Pile Warfs of the Beam-Slab Structure
    Zhang Zhihong
    1991, 10(4): 85-95.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (743KB) ( )
In the design of the slabs for the high pile warfs of the beam-slab structure, the slabs are divided into the single and double acting slabs in the standard specifications of the harbor engineering, and the bending moment occurs in one or two directions of the axe center when the slabs are acted on by the loading, and an idea of the width of the efficient range of loading is introduced into the single acting slabs to simplify the calculation. In this paper, on the basis of the elastic theory and the present tests the idea is discussed for the slabs, the problems in the use of the standard specification are pointed out, and suggestions about different load, width-span ratio, and the kinds of the slabs are made when the slabs of the high pile warfs are designed, which have some technic economic worth for the design of the high pile warf slabs.

Finite Element Analysis of Jointed Concrete Pavements
Zhao Jiajun, Huang Xiaoming, Deng Xuejun
    1991, 10(4): 96-103.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (605KB) ( )
In this paper, the shortcomings of the present load-transfer models of concrete pavements are analyzed and a new analytical model which can transfer shear and moment through steel dowels is presented. The steel dowels are modeled as thick short beams resting on an elastic concrete medium. A computer program denoted as FEAJCP which is based on the new model and finite element theory is presented. It can analyse stresses, deflections and joint efficiencies of concrete pavements with keyed, aggregate interlock, flat or dowel joints. It has been proved correct compared with the results of the computer program named JSLAB of PCA. The model and the computer program may be used as a basis for theory research of concrete pavements designs.
