Two problems in design and calculation of higher bridge piers
    CHENG Xiang-yun
    2000, 19(2): 6-10.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (408KB) ( )
Based on the principle of minimum potential and using Rayleigh-Ritz method, the geometric non-linear analysis of higher bridge piers wes solved in this paper. The new concept of equivalent horizontal force proposed by the author may be easily to calculate the second effect, which wes produced due to the vertical forces and resisted by the piers and rubber pad bearings incorporately. The simple formula in this paper are applicable to calculate by hand, understood clearly without computation of successive iteration, higher precision and graspable easily for the disigner. Therefore it has the practical significance.

    TANG Liang, QU Guang-yi
    2000, 19(2): 44-49.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (430KB) ( )
To compound C50 in the constructiion of box-girder of the superstructure of Huanghuayuan bridge, medium sands made in Jianyuang are rreplaced by composite mortars made up of machine-processed sands and sands made in Quhe. The practical application and the analysis of experimental data sow that working behavior and mechanics performance of the composite mortars are basically similar to that of concrete compounded by the medium sands made in Jianyang. Besides, the application of the composite mortars has attained remarkable economic benefits. Thereby, the development, spread and application of this kind of technology in city of Chongqing will be certain to bring about tremendously great economic benefits.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (280KB) ( )
With the increasing of suspension bridge's span, the gravity stiffness of suspension cable itself is more important than vertical deflection resistance stiffness of stiffening girder which is serviced for the whole structure. In order to provide more knowledge of gravity stiffness of suspension cable, in this paper, gravity stiffness of suspension cable is formulated briefly and theoretically in case of ignoring the existing of the stiffening girder. The deformation and internal force of suspension cable can be calculated approximately in this way.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (258KB) ( )
It is well known that anchorage of rock mass slope is an important research topic and content. In view of research aim that displacement along anchor direction is the biggest, and displacement equations of anchor rock mass are deduced in the paper beyond regarding rock mass as disperse medium. Solving these equations, we can identified optimal anchor direction. Optimal anchor direction can make our works on slopes anchorage from blindness and randomness. This method must paper to slope hamess.
