Abstract: The thrust against the abutment of the arched bridge is the main loading. All calculating methods of thrust at present take no accout of influences of the filling height, behaviour and constructional case of the bridge. This paper presents a calculating method of permissible thrust against abutment of the arched bridge according to the above-mentioned case.
