    Channeling Effects And Chaotic Behaviours of Particles in Bent Crystal

    Based on introducing the sine-squared potential, with considering the motion damping and the periodic applied field,the motion equation of particles in bent crystal was reduced to the 2nd order nonlinear ordinary differential equation with the constant momentum, the damping and forced terms. We derived the threshold value of chaos and discussed the way leading to chaotion state by Melnikov function.

    A Simplified Method for Computing the Response Due to Creep And Shrinkage of Concrete in Composite Steel Girder

    This paper proposes a simlified method for computing the intenal forces of composite steel girder using the entire cross-section. It involves the solution by the well-known carry-over stiffness matrix technique in which any available computer program may be adopted. Using this method, the response due to concrete creep is obtained by relaxation coefficient approach, which was introduced by prof. Trost. Nevertheless, it can also be extended to effective elastic modulus approach. An example on composite steel girder is given, but it may be used on preflex-girder, composite steel girder in cable-stayed system as well as in concrete composite girder.

    An Approach to the improvement of Road Safety in Developing Countries

    Road fatal accident rates of 47 Countries, road safety trends from 1963 to 1984 of 6 countries of different motorization rates and traffic safety situation in the 10 safest countries are compared. Experiences of countries such as Japan and Sweden which have experienced great success in road safety promotion are reviewed. The reasons for slowness of safety promotion and worsing conditions in developing countries is analysed. It is clear that developing countries are experiencing what developed countries have experienced in the past-road fatal accidents increase with the growth of traffic. In view of this, for developing countries the,lesson and experience should be learned from developed countries. In forming. transportation policy, economics, efficiency and safety should be given equal weight and road safety promotion should be undertaken steadily.

    This paper deals with the calculation of the total potential energy of the curved bridge with considering the load transverse distribution coefficients of girders as unknown parameters. The Rayleigh-Ritz method is used to obtain transverse distrbution coefficients.

    Exploration on Driving Requirement to the Pavement Evenness

    In this paper, the relationship between driving and the pavement evenness is analyzed by means of the principle of dynamics. The index of pavement evenness is recommended, which not only meets the need of driving, but also directs conveniently the construction of pavements.

    Based on the relation of the primary factors to both eigenvalues and eigenvectors of matrices, this paper gives the simplified method of transforming the matrices with low multiplicity eigenvalues from complex linear space into the Jordan normal form. Some examples are also presented.

    The thrust against the abutment of the arched bridge is the main loading. All calculating methods of thrust at present take no accout of influences of the filling height, behaviour and constructional case of the bridge. This paper presents a calculating method of permissible thrust against abutment of the arched bridge according to the above-mentioned case.

    Finite Strip Method for the Analysis of Hinged Plates with Two Simply Supported Ends

    A new finite strip element-hinged plate bending strip element is presented for the analysis of right hinged plate bridges. The corresponding strain matrix, stiffness matrix and load row matrix are derived. Results of numerical examples show that the propoesd methods is adaptable and can be used simply and conveniently for calculation with high accuracy.It opens up a new way for practical calculating and can be calculated by a computer for hinged plate bridges.

    Analysis of Transverse Internal Force of Single-cell Box Girder and Its Effective Width of Load-distribution

    This paper proposed the simplified calculation scheme for analysis of transverse internal forces of single-cell box girder, and made out the numerical computer PC-1500 program using finit stripe method. Combined with the several box cross-sectional dimensions and National Load Standard of Highway Bridge Norm, the analysis was completed in detail. Based on the work, the author presented the additional recommendable formulas with respect to effective width of load-distribution, which may be used as a reference for design and modification of highway bridge norm.

    In this paper, we proved that Cn×n can be embedded in R2n×2n。Matrix(-BA AB) is similar to matrix (0A+iB A-iB0). Here Cn×n is the ring of n×n complex matrices, and R2n×2n is the ring of 2n×2n real matrices. A and B are n×n real matrices, i=√-1 is imaginary unit.
