An Approach for Filling up Embarkment by Directional Blasting at a Close Distance
    Wang Hong-qu
    1983, 2(2): 13-24.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (812KB) ( )
Based on a large number of practice and production check up, this paper presents a set of procedures for filling up embankment by directional blasting at a close distance. Collapse-slippery principle and triangular area balancing method are used to develop the calculating formulas and law of piling after blasting in various topography. Through four hundred and more applications in the last twenty years, it has become a new effective engineering blasting method, which could be used along a river line without retaining walls slope protection and viaduct. Therefore, it is very practical and of economical significance.

The Safety Analysis on Geometries of the Existing Road
    Li Zheng-yi
    1983, 2(2): 25-36.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2812KB) ( )
To counter this grave situation of traffic accident which is increased with year in our country, this paper analyses the relationship between the road geometries and the traffic safety according to the fundamentals of the system engineering and the traffic engineering in order to improve the quality of road design and assure safety of traffic, based upon the study about road and environment factor of traffic accident in Chongqing. This paper also puts forward a tentative view which is how to take note of the demand about the dynamic vision and the motion psychology of the driver in the geometries design of road.

Application of Spline Finite Element to Free Vibration Problems of Orthotropic Plate Bridge
    Fan Shi-cheng
    1983, 2(2): 47-59.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (669KB) ( )
In this paper the author makes use of the principle of virtual displacement and the cubic B-spline function as a piecewise function to analyze free vibration of orthotropic plate bridge. The author derives a computational scheme well suited for various boundary conditions for the orthotropic plate and plate-beam structures on rectangular region. The main prominent features of this method are more accurate and more economic in computing storage and time requirement. It is easily carried out with a medium-sized or small-sized computer.

Analysis of Secondary Stresses of Truss
    Wang Lei
    1983, 2(2): 60-67.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (437KB) ( )
Let us consider the axial forces effect of truss. This paper uses sine series and polynomial to derive the bar of slope deflection equations. In order to overcome the demerit of the slowness of the series convergence, we put forward the series summation formula. These formulas calculate secondary stresses of truss at high accuracy and good economic utility.

Debris Flow in the Eastern and Western Ditches, Hanyuanxian, Sichuan
Cheng De-fang, Dai Cheng-zhong, Tian Wei
    1983, 2(2): 69-76.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (2909KB) ( )
West Sichuan is one of the areas in China, where the debris flows occur centrally and its harmfulness is much more than that of any other areas. According to the analysis of this material, which is obtained by means of field study and laboratory study in the main roads of this area, we can know the mechanism of debris flow formation and its scale, intensity, type as well as characteristics. There are two debris flow ditches in the county town-Hanyuanxian-of this area. Having investigated, measured and calculated, in this material we put forward some plan of the road leaping over ditch and some idea of bringing a ditch under control.

A Study of Biorhythms and Motor Vehical Accidents on Road
    Wang Jian
    1983, 2(2): 77-85.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (664KB) ( )
The biorhythm theory is a new viewpoint about the causes of human behavior. It assumes that everything human beings do is influenced by a 23-day physical cycle, a 28-day emotional or sensitivity cycle and a 33-day intellectual cycle. This paper deals with whether any correlation exists between motor vehicle accident and biorhythmic stales of the driver wor not. 490 motor vehicle accidents being at fault with the driver were analysed. The author thinks that the important work for improving traffic safety should place on the driver's performances. In this paper some experimental study was examined. It was reported that when the driver's critical days were impending, the manager issued warnings to them according to their biorhythm charts or tables, then the motor vehicale accidents were reduced. In future it is necessary to research biorhythms with adequate "control group", and take into account the environmental effects.

The Meditation and Design of Arch Bridge in Flying Bird Balance by Itself Turning Construction
    Yang Du-jun
    1983, 2(2): 86-94.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (598KB) ( )
The practices show the constructional methods of turning arch have special superiorities in some conditions, which are similar to that of the first turning constructional arch in our country. Directing to the shortages that are in large numbers, of masonry for balance weight and absorbing the advantage of the design suggested by B. Д. Baсильев, the meditation of arch bridge in flying bird balance by itself in respect to the turning construction and primary design are presented. In addition, the comparisons of several turning consttuctional methods are given.

    Zhu Jun-sun
    1983, 2(2): 105-110.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1557KB) ( )
Alone with the fast development in the space remote sensing technology, it becomes possible to telemeter from hundreds of kilometers far about in the sky by the use of satellite remote-sensing platform, the rule of changes of natura sites (under sea),including: ocean wave spectrum, internal waves of ocean, ocean regim the movement of mud and sand (sediment) and typhoon and flood calamities, etc. ren sensing possesses the characteristics of wide-viewing and quick achieving of informations. In this article, taking the related historical materials of this country and abroad evidence The author explains the way of application of satellite remote-sensing technology to ocean regimen. After making a brief explanation of the graphs of electromagnetic waves from ote-sensing, the author discusses four sides as follows: 1) The method of ocean depth calculation; 2) The gulf sediment movement; 3) Ocean waves and regimen; 4) Regimen forecast.
