    Chen Hongkai, Tang Hongmei
    1998, 17(3): 13-20.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (84KB) ( )
Seepage and drainage in fractured rockmass are important investigative topics on slope stability and deformation in permanent shiplocks of the Three Gorges Project, whose basis is founding the seepage model used in seepage and drainage studies. Discontinuum seepage model can be formed objectively with typical water-conduction fractures. On the basis of investigation in-situ, water-conduction fractures in slope rockmass can be divided into 11 groups in permanent shiplocks of the project, in which NE-NEE with steep dip angles are dominant water-conduction fractures. Hereby applications are reasonable on calculating of rockmass equivalent permeabilities and identifying of optimal design of drainage holes.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (81KB) ( )
The paper is focused on the study of the influence of the factors such as the bearing area ratio. and its eccent ricity on the local bearing strength of high-strength concrete. Using the theoretical formula derived as reference, the equations for practical computation are established. A linear relationship between the eccetricity ei and the local bearing strength factor β as well as the simplified method calculation Ad are determined for the case of eccetric load.

Effect of Underground Water on the Stability of Douyapeng Landslide in Wanxian, Chongqing
    Qu Shiqin, Yang Chengyu
    1998, 17(3): 106-111.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (69KB) ( )
The present paper analyses the effect of runoff water and underground water on the stability of Douyapent landslide in Wanxian according to the site observations for two years. The analysis shows that landslide deformation is closely related to the runoff water and underground water. Excessive water to the landslide body softens soil and reduces resistant shear stress resulting in lower stability of landslide. An appropriate method of cutoff ditch located along up-edge of the landslide can lower underground water level dramatically. Later, almost digging pile-holes show that up and bottom interfaces of the landslide became dry and healed, and the stability of landslide could increase about more than 1.7 times.

Probabilistic Analysis of Soil Properties and Its Application to Reliability of Slop Stability
    Qu Shiqin, Yang Chengyu
    1998, 17(3): 112-118.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (69KB) ( )
The paper presents probability analysis of earth characteristics in territory of the Three Gorges Project with the help of 295 group data and shows that β distributinon of c and Ф may be more appreciated than the Normal Distribution. The example indicates that the stable earth slop determined by specified soil properties is an unstable with the aim of reliability theory. Due to the Three Gorges project smooth development, there is a need to collect more soil mechanics data to achieve assessment of soil properties and their distribution so as to assure earth slop stable for resident relocation, building, harbor and highway reconstruction.
