Abstract: Triangulated Irrgular Network (TIN)is regarded as an ideal digital terrain model in engineering design .It takes not only the density of topographical points but also the terrain points and terrain lines into consideration .Thereby its application precision can be improved .This paper gives a method to design the alignment of mountian highway which is based on the Triangulated Irrgular Network
