This Papaer briefly introduces the fundamental conception of statical and dynamic reaction pro-duced by the stru cture under wind action,On th is basis,a briefing is made on the design procedure forwind rersistance,the computation of basic wind velocity and deaign wind velocity of the world’s largestspan suspenslon bridge at present(L= 1990m)一the Akashi Strait Bridge in Japon, Analysis is madefor the characteristics of wind variation ,angle of attack,static design of wind,the checking computa-tion for wind resistance and so on,and mathematical calculations are performed for the basic wind ve-leeity during the construction of the Bridge。
