    The bulk of time and effort go to design high-lev el profile of intersection by using existing method.Regarding the design of inters ection as that of curved surface,the paper introduces a new method which can dra w out quickly contour line of intersection by using the COONS curved-surface fu nction,and gain the elevation of random station.The designer can adjust simultan eously the design process and reach an ideal result.This design method is very f ast,convenient and efficacious.

    Interval FEM used in the calculation of bridge and structural response under combinatorial loads

    The loading uncertainties of bridge and structure ma y be expressed by the upper and lower boundaries of an interval.The interval Fin i te Element Method(FEM) is used to obtain the conservative bounds for the displac ement and force response quantities.The linear elastic beam elements are applied in the discretization of a real bridge.The bounded intervals are used in express i ng the load vector with unertainties.The conservative bounds for the response qu antities are determined by the theory of interval algebra and linear elastic pro g ramming.Then,the conservative bounds for the response can be obtained.The propos ed formulation is applied to the practical design of bridge and structure loadin g combinations.The results of an example indicate that the method used here is c onvenient and simple.This method also has small calculation work and is suitable to calculate the loading combinations of bridges and structures in the practica l design.

    In this paper,the girder of curved bridges was tak en as normal curved beam structure.Based on the schemes of different support condi tions of skew curved bridges,the nodal-axis-system was utilised.The element st iffness matrix of skew curcular beam have been developed.The equivalent nodal fo rce vectors subjected to usual loads were also derived by force method.Some nume rical results of two examples were given.This method is simple,actual and reliab le.It can be used to calculate the skew continous curved girder bridges,the skew continous curved ridgid frame bridges and the curved ridgid fram in buildin g structures.

    The paper studied SBS polymer modified asphalt.It an alysed effect of blend time and temperature on SBS polymer modified asphalt prop erties,and the results show the effective blend time for Japanese asphalt,SLi as p halt and LAL asphalt modified with SBS polymer are espectively 3 hours,3 hours a nd 4 hours,based on temperature susceptibility?high temperature stability and l ow temperature stability of asphalt.With the increase of the blend temperature, the temperature susceptibility of SBS polymer modified asphalt is decreased,the soft point and ductility at low temperature are increased,and it shows that incr easing of blend temperature is beneficial to compatibility between SBS polymer a nd asphalt.

    Base-watering of highways is the main wasting of hi ghway in mountainous area.This paper analyzes base-watering of highways in moun tainous area,taking base-watering of highways in Liangshan area as an example.A nd we suggest the effective anti-destroy structure against topography,geomorpho logy,tectonic and hydro-meteorology of this area.The base-watering of highways of this area can be divided into four types,i.e.slide inducing,mud-rock flow i nducing,river flow inducing,and foundation losing efficacy.This cl assification has enriched connotation of base-watering of highways.
