    Abstract ( )   PDF (229KB) ( )
According to Standard (JTJ023-85)of road、bridge and culvert, the beams of the kind of B of partially pretressed concrete and the compression members with small eccentricity, this paper gives the general equations of calculating the value of ξ of a relative height in the com pression reign of the section. And it gives different formulas of the coefficient of these equations. This paper also offers three kinds of simplified approaches by which a cubic equation approximated by aquadratic equqation with acceptable accuracy is proposed.Through examples these simplified methods are analysed and compared.

Reliability Analysis Procedures for the Method of Flexible Pavements Design with Deflection Criteria
Huang Wei, Zhao Yanqing, Qin Fusheng
    1997, 16(2): 21-26.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (221KB) ( )
A reliability analysis procedure is developed for the flexible pavements design method based on deflection criteria. The relationships among pavement structure, fatigue life span and reliability are presented by Monte Carlo simulation method. The results indicate that the variation of fatigue life span mainly depends on the variations of thickness and modulus. The expected value of thickness and modulus have little effect on the variation of fatigue life span. For deflection criteria, the fatigue life span of flexible pavement is sensitive, in the descendiny order, to variation of P, E3, h2, E2, h1, E1.

A New Method to Compute Fatigue-thermal Stress of Concrete Pavement
    Gu Wenjun, Yu Jianrong
    1997, 16(2): 37-42.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (181KB) ( )
Both the load stress and thermal stress contribute to fatigue damage in concrete pavements. In this paper, using the equivalent fatigue damage principle, a simple but rational method to compute fatigue-therm al stress of concrete pavement is developed, which improves the method of reference[3] presented. This new method agrees to the fact that thermal stress affected on pavement and provides a theoretical base for pavement design considering the comprehensive influence of therm al stress and load stress.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (98KB) ( )
In this paper we research the fluvial river with braided reaches which often appear in the middle and lower part of river. The situation is complicated because of the motion of water and sediment in braided river. The river with wany shoals and rapids is dangerons for the navigation. As to the braided reaches in the natural conditions, they can be used for navigation, if the depth of waterway is enough. The water resources are to be used for navigation. Some work is to be done for the braided reaches and the methods to control dicharges are to be studied so that the river traffic conditions will be smoothly improved.
