Comprehensive Evaluation of Signal Control Strategy at Urban Road Intersection

城市道路交叉口信号控制策略综合评价

Abstract: Based on the integrated influence of the signal control strategy at urban intersections on traffic efficiency, safety and environmental benefits of intersections, a multi-level indicator system was established to reflect each benefit. The proposed system included indicators such as delay, queue length, efficiency coefficient, area density of conflicts, pollutant emissions and noise. Then, the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) was applied to evaluate the signal control strategy at the intersection. In AHP method, a two-stage-construction approach was used to build the consistent judgment matrix and to acquire the weight of each indicator. Finally, through the case study based on the simulation experiment of VISSIM, the comprehensive benefits under two kinds of fixed signal control strategies and public traffic signal priority strategy were compared. The effectiveness of the proposed evaluation method was verified and the ex-ante evaluation of the signal control strategy at intersection was realized, which provided the theoretical basis for the final control strategy decision.

摘要: 基于城市平面交叉口信号控制策略对交叉口交通效率、安全和环境三方面效益的综合影响,针对各效益建立了包括延误、排队长度、效率系数、冲突点面密度、污染物排放、噪声在内的多级指标体系,并通过层次分析法对交叉口信号控制策略开展评价,该方法采用两阶段构造法构造一致判断矩阵并确定每一指标的权重值。最后通过基于VISSIM的仿真实验进行案例分析,比较了两种固定式信号控制策略及公交信号优先策略下的综合效益,验证了所提出评价方法的有效性,实现了对交叉口信号控制策略的事前评价,为最终控制策略的决策提供理论依据。
