    Abstract ( )   PDF (407KB) ( )
In order to provide accurate temperature field of asphalt pavement for rutting simulation, the finite element model of temperature field with consecutive temperature variation is established by means of user subroutine of finite element software ABAQUS, according to statistical average weather conditions in many years. According to the measured temperature field, the reliability of the temperature field model is verified, and temperature field variation with pavement depth and time is analyzed under conditions of consecutive temperature variation. The results show that the upper asphalt pavement's temperature changes significantly with pavement depth, whereas the temperature variation gradually weakens with increasing depth, which indicates that pavement structure can relieve the variation of ambient temperature; temperature field of asphalt pavement, especially surface layer, varies periodica lly with time under ambient conditions, and lags behind with pavement depth.

Research on Influence of Modified Asphalt and Polyester Fiber on Low Temperature Performance of Asphalt Concrete
    ZENG Rong-bin, ZHANG Yuan-hang, WU Guo-xiong
    2010, 29(5): 722-726.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (331KB) ( )
Three kinds of laboratory experiments are conducted to study the anti-cracking performance of asphalt concrete with gradation of Superpave13 and Superpave19 under low temperature. The results show that: adding fiber and SBS modified asphalt can generate the mixtures failure strain and failure stress, increase the strain and reduce the stiffness modulus, thus adding fiber and SBS modified asphalt can significantly improve the anti-cracking ability at low temperature; the cleavage fracture strength of different asphalt mixtures at different temperature range shows different trends, meanwhile, a critical temperature (about- 10^C) exists, which can correspondingly generate a peak strength; the order of failure loads of three kinds of mixtures are: modified asphalt > fiber mixture > ord inary asphalt mixture, and failure strains have the same rules; in a sense, the anti-cracking ability of fiber asphalt may be better than that of SBS modified asphalt. Fracture toughness obta ined by J-integral strain energy test can be used as effective evaluation index of anti-cracking performance of asphalt mixtures under low temperature.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (232KB) ( )
No signal control intersection theory is the basis for signalized intersections. Based on the theory of the gap acceptance at the intersection without traffic signal, the traffic flow characteristics about the left-turn lane at two-phase signal control intersection of urban road are analyzed and a left-turning crossing capacity model is established. Parameters of the proposed model is calibrated by the field data. Using the simulation software Vissim 3.6 to simulate the transportation environment of the actual intersection, the maxium number of vehicles on the left-turn lane which pass through the road intersection per hour is obtained. The relative error between the capacity obtained through the calculation model and the result got by Vissim 3.6 is less than 10%, which proves that the proposed computation model has good applicability.

Loop Detector Location Research on Urban Road in Amsterdam
    JIYANG Bei-bei, WINNIE Daame
    2010, 29(5): 754-757.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (482KB) ( )
Recently, it has been found that Macroscopic Fundam ental Diagrams(MFDs) exist in large urban networks. MFDs can be used to estimate the level of service of road networks and the network wide traffic management is also based on the concept of MFD. Although traffic data on freeways are collected by detectors distributed each 500 meters along almost all freeways, empirical traffic data of the urban area are in general insufficient to study MFDs. It is also very expensive and almost impossible to build loop detectors on all links of the network. Therefore, in order to collect sufficient traffic data to draw accurate MFDs in the urban network under the limited financial budget, the questions which types of links should be selected to build loop detectors should be resolved. The critical links on urban road in Amsterdam are put forward on the basis of Vissim, which provides theoretic foundation of locating loop detectors.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (302KB) ( )
Intersection-group is the basic unit of traffic coordinated control in the urban road network and its scopeis directly related with the coordination and control benefits of the road network. Firstly, based on the improved Whitson model of link re levance, them odel o f path relevance of adjacent intersections is put forward, which takes the space distribution of origin-destination (OD) flow in the local traffic network into consideration. Secondly, hierarchical clustering method is applied to intersection??group dynamic division based on calculated results from the model of path relevance. Finally, an example is given out to verify the mentioned two methods and two division schemes are comparatively analyzed. The research results demonstrate that dynamic division of intersection-group based on the path relevance could reduce the division times for main OD path, and thus could decrease the total numbers of vehicle stops and stop delay in the local road network.

    Abstract ( )   PDF (446KB) ( )
The structure form of great water fluctuation framed wharf is complex in inland rivers. In the structure analysis, the updating of the finite element computation model is difficult. The finite element method is used to build the parameterized model. Three-dimensional static analysis on the framed wharf parameterized model in the most unfavorable load conditions is carried out with the static push-over analysis method. The internal forces of the parameterized model and the nonparametric model are calculated under a variety of the most adverse operating conditions, and then the comparison analys is between their results is carried out. Research shows that the two results are similar; the parame terized model is effective and reliable; furthermore, the estab lished parame terized model and the proposed analysis method can be applied in the optimization design of the wharf structure.

    2010, 29(5): 828-831.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (304KB) ( )
Genetic operator is used to optimize particle swarm optimization algorithm, and to form a multi-source data fusion model based on GA-PSO. The model overcomes the defects of trapping into local optimal point that ordinary particle swarm optimization algorithm easily falls into in the training process, and reaches higher accuracy and faster converg ence speed. Finally, the fusion mode of the target ship track point data is validated by multiple sensors. The results show that track accuracy based on GA-PSO fusion model is better than that detected by every single sensor in detecting the target ship track point data, and the GA-PSO fusion model is more suitable to do ship tracking and forecast

WANG Zheng-lun, WANG Zhi-xiang, ZHANG Xin
    2010, 29(5): 832-836.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (298KB) ( )
With regard to the 2205 duplex stainless steel which is used for special shipbuilding in Chuandong Shipyard, BP neural network forecast models on welding residual stress and shrinkage deformation of 2205 duplex stainless steel ( DSS) have been respectively established, on the basis of the welding experiment of 2205 duplex stainless steel. The proposed forecast model is compared with the multiple linear regression method. The comparison indicates that the proposed forecast model can better simulate the non-linear relationships of welding residual stress and deformation between the process parameters, such as thickness, welding current, arc voltage and welding speed. The forecast results show that BP neural network is more advantageous both in the prediction accuracy and generalization capability than them ultiple linear regression method.
